De Spelevaert is a Catholic school in the Seghwaert neighborhood.
We call our approach “Successful Learning.” We ensure that every student develops to their full potential, both intellectually and socially-emotionally. We not only provide effective, high-quality instruction in core subjects but also ensure that children develop the skills necessary to facilitate learning (Learning to Learn).

We teach children to be proud of who they are, including their talents and qualities as well as their areas for development. We do this in consistent groups with a dedicated teacher. It is our conviction that this is the only way to create a positive atmosphere in which the teacher can ensure healthy group dynamics. We believe that “learning only happens when the atmosphere is right.”
A key objective of Successful Learning is for students to maintain their enjoyment of school and learning. We achieve this by involving our students in their own learning process. They understand what they are learning and experience success by focusing primarily on their growth. This ensures that learning remains enjoyable, regardless of one’s talents. We align our curriculum with secondary education requirements, as well as with the expectations society will have of our children as adults.
Arts and culture hold a significant place in our curriculum. Children develop their creative talents and learn to understand the value of art, which also broadens their horizons. We regularly hold celebrations where children showcase various skills on stage. We welcome parents to come and observe these events.
