At IKC De Buytenkans in Buytenwegh, we offer childcare and education to children aged 0-13. Learning through play and individual attention for every child are our top priorities. We believe in talent development and the happiness of our children. By meeting essential conditions (school meals, celebrating successes, field trips, etc.), our students are well-equipped to learn: our graduation results are generally high and we have an excellent reputation.

Our education is supported by the latest teaching tools and methods. Without bells, whistles and fuss, we deliver ‘just good’ education. We generally score high in the RTL school lists.
We follow the educational needs of our students. We listen and watch children to help them grow to their full potential. Learning to play and learning to play are the guiding principles. Each student has a fixed place in their own group. Of course we differentiate in instruction. In addition to the group teacher, each group has its own teacher support person or teaching assistant for extra guidance or instruction. In this way, every child is addressed. The children find rest during processing by, for example, working on the mezzanine in their own group.
Music education holds an important place: every Friday we have rock@school, workshops given by students and graduates of the conservatory. After each 8-week lesson series, we hold a spectacular performance. The language transition class, the plus class, and the ‘klusklas’ (handyman class) are also vital for identifying and recognizing our students’ talents. To keep the children happy after school hours, we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities.
