Registering your child takes a few steps. Below we explain how it works.

Step 1: Wait for the letter from the municipality

Visit schools and make a top 3. See the page How do I choose a school? for tips.

Step 2: Set up your email reminder

Check on the page When to register? in which period you can register your child. You cannot register your child earlier than the start date of the period.

Step 3: Open the registration link on the first day

On the first day of your registration period, you will receive a personal email with the registration link to the central registration system. Open this link to start the registration.

  • Your child's details (name, date of birth)
  • Your own contact details
  • A top 3 of schools where you want to register your child
  • Whether your child needs extra support

Step 4: Fill in three preferred schools

In the registration form you provide three schools in order of preference. The school of first preference gets priority in placement. A second and third preference ensure that your child also gets a place if the first school is full.

Step 5: Confirm your registration

Check your details and confirm the registration. You will receive a confirmation by email. Within six weeks after closing of the registration period you will receive notification about the placement.

Changing registration

Did you make a mistake? Contact the school of your first preference by email. They can release the registration within the registration period so that you can fill in the form again. After closing of the registration period, changes are no longer possible.
