At IKC De Tjalk we work with an innovative form of organization in which cooperation, expertise and ownership are central. Our goal is to optimally align the educational offerings with the needs of our children. We work from different basic attitudes that everyone needs to continue to learn and develop. These basic attitudes are the starting point for the learning and actions of all children, staff and parents within our IKC. We see our children as curious researchers. Children like to discover, try and learn new things. They are given the space to do so, within the set frameworks. After all, children are owners of their own learning process. The children at IKC De Tjalk work together and help each other where necessary, both cognitively and socially. At IKC De Tjalk we know each other’s qualities and use them daily. Teachers also work across groups as a result. The colleagues who work in the groups 0/1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 each form a close educational team that is jointly responsible for the development of the children concerned. The various spaces, both inside and outside the building, are multifunctional and richly furnished, stimulating children’s curiosity and supporting them to take the next step in their development.
