De Buut is beautifully and centrally located in the Noordhove district. From the outside, it appears to be a large school, but upon entering, you experience the cozy, welcoming atmosphere that prevails within. De Buut is a place where we aim to provide our pupils with the necessary foundation to participate in our dynamic society. At our school, children learn to discover who they are thanks to an enthusiastic and experienced team, and they experience that everyone is welcome.
At De Buut, we believe it is important to pay attention to different ways of learning. We ensure there is sufficient space for movement. Furthermore, we want children to learn not only theoretically but also through experience. Throughout the school year, various outdoor lessons, guest lectures, and workshops are held at the school. We also seek variety in teaching methods during the instruction or processing of subjects such as arithmetic, language, and spelling.
Each of our groups has its own classroom. These rooms are designed so that children can develop in a quiet, inspiring space. Our building consists of two floors. The lower school is located downstairs, and the upper school is upstairs. The hallway in the lower school area contains a play area and workspaces, allowing the corridor to be integrated with the classrooms. Upstairs in the hallway, we have the library, where children can also borrow books to take home. Additionally, the building features a beautiful, spacious assembly hall used for various activities. Finally, the school’s surroundings also offer plenty of space for play, discovery, and learning.
De Buut is a place where you can be yourself. We are proud of all our pupils and express this openly. We aim to provide ample space for our pupils’ talents. There are various moments when children can discover and showcase their talents, such as during the Buutpodium, the ‘pride afternoons’, ‘pride weeks’, and the ‘this is what we can do’ evening. In their ‘pride folder’, children collect work and assignments they are proud of. In this way, they learn to reflect on all the things they excel at.
