Nicely centrally located in the Noordhove neighborhood is De Buut. From the outside it looks like a large school, but when you step inside you experience the cozy, friendly atmosphere that exists within the school. De Buut is the place where we want to give our students enough baggage to participate in our dynamic society. Here, thanks to an enthusiastic and experienced team, children learn to discover who they are and experience that everyone is welcome.
At De Buut, we think it is important to pay attention to different ways of learning. We ensure that there is sufficient space for movement. In addition, we want children to learn not only theoretically, but also to learn by experiencing. During the school year there are various outdoor lessons, guest lessons and workshops at school. Also during the instruction or processing of, for example, math, language and spelling, we look for variety in forms of work.
Our groups all have their own classroom. This classroom is arranged so that children can develop in a quiet, inspiring space. Our building has two floors. Downstairs is the lower school and upstairs is the upper school. The corridor near the lower school contains a play area and workstations, so that the corridor can also be involved with the classrooms. Upstairs in the corridor we have the library, where children can also borrow books to take home. The building also has a beautiful, spacious auditorium that we use for various activities. Finally, the surroundings of the school also offer a lot of space to enjoy playing, discovering and learning.
De Buut is the place where you can be yourself. We are proud of all of our students and propagate this. We want to offer enough space for the talents of our pupils. There are various moments when children can discover and exhibit their talents, for example during the Buutpodium, pride afternoons, pride weeks and the ‘this we can do’ evening. In their pride folder, children collect works and assignments that they are proud of. In this way they learn to think about all the things they are good at.
